When Cora heard about her daughter surprising her with business class plane tickets, she was very excited. She had never flown before and knew this would take away a bit of her anxiety. But nothing could have prepared her for what was about to happen on the plane. Because just as the plane was filling up with passengers, one of the flight attendants walked over to Cora and bluntly asked her to leave.
That was something she later regretted deeply…
Cora confusedly looked up at the flight attendant. She thought she had misheard her at first, but when she asked again, Cora could clearly hear what the flight attendant was telling her. “Ma’am, I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” She didn’t even ask to see Cora’s boarding pass…
Cora’s heart began to race as she looked around her in confusion. No one seemed to care about how the flight attendant was speaking to her. It was degrading, to say the least, and it made her feel like she was unworthy of being here. “But I paid for this seat?”
The flight attendant didn’t want to listen to anything Cora was saying. She eventually managed to give her passport to another flight attendant, who was luckily willing to double-check Cora’s booking. The flight attendant returned as white as a ghost, showing her colleagues the inside of Cora’s passport…
But why was Cora refused in business class? What did the flight attendant do? And why did they turn pale?
Cora was on her way to visit her daughter, who had just given birth. She had never flown before, but she desperately wanted to meet her grandchild. Cora’s daughter, Violet, knew how anxious her mother was about flying for the first time, so she surprised her with a business-class ticket.
Because of this upgrade, Core was a bit more excited than anxious about flying. She knew she would be well-taken care of and figured the staff would be a bit nicer to her if she were to get really scared. But nothing could have prepared her for how the staff was actually going to treat her…
On the day of her travel, Cora made sure to double-check everything. After making sure she had her passport, plane ticket, and luggage ready, she hopped in a taxi and drove to the airport. When she arrived, she realized Violet had arranged another surprise for her. She was taken to the VIP section.
Cora felt like the queen. All she had to do was give her passport and luggage to the staff, and they took care of everything. She was brought to a lounge where she could wait for the boarding to begin while she relaxed on the couch or drank a glass of wine at the bar.
After being treated so royally the whole day, she expected the same treatment on the plane. She had a ticket for a business class seat, after all. So when it was time to board the plane, Cora happily stepped into the car, which took her to the plane, and stepped on board without second thoughts.
